Privacy Policy
Rinex Technology has a Privacy Policy in place to protect your privacy and personal information. When RINEX collects your personal information, we are governed by and will comply with the National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act of 1988.
Whenever we collect information from you, we will make every reasonable attempt to inform you why we are collecting your information, to whom we will disclose that information and purposes for which we intend to use that information.
In general, when collecting personal information from individuals in their own capacity or as a representative of the company, the primary purposes for which we collect personal information includes the following:
- making sure all purchases made by you are invoiced correctly and records are kept up-to-date for warranty and support issues
- making sure we ship all parts and/or repairs to you at the correct address
- maintaining your OmniSTAR signal subscription (if applicable). In doing this we may disclose the following information to OmniSTAR Pty Ltd:
- your receiver serial number
- your company name
- your contact name
- your fax number
- keeping you up-to-date with special offers and other RINEX news
- using your information for market research so we can further develop our software and hardware
In addition to the above, we may disclose your information to a Credit Reporting Agency, but limited to:
- your name, sex, current known address, previous address, contact phone numbers
- the fact that you are a client of Rinex Technology
- payments overdue for at least 30 days and for which collection action has been recommended
- advice that payments are no longer overdue
- cheques drawn by you, which have been dishonoured more than once
- that credit provided by Rinex Technology to you has been paid or credited
To ensure that these purposes are fulfilled, the information may be stored, processed, and passed onto other departments within Rinex Technology. Where necessary, and with your express written permission, your information may also be passed onto third parties such as suppliers or dealers that assist us in providing our products and services to you.
At all times, we will take great care to ensure that your personal information is protected and treated with confidentiality and in accordance with the Privacy Act.
If you believe that we have not dealt with your personal information in a manner that complies with the Privacy Act you should contact Rinex Technology immediately. Similarly, if you wish to access personal information that we hold about you, you may request so in writing.
